High end security

Kowa’s motorized zooms are mainly used for demanding surveillance solutions for which high image quality is important and when sharp images from several kilometers away are required. For example, Kowa zoom lenses are used in the monitoring of hydropower plants, prisons and railroad tracks. For a wide range of applications, Kowa’s product portfolio includes a wide range of C-mount motor zoom lenses for various camera chip sizes, with resolutions up to 5 megapixel and focal lengths up to 1000mm. The following video shows the power of the Kowa 1000mmm motorzoom LMZ1000AMPDC-XF:

The invisible becomes visible

Many applications require the ability to capture images beyond the visible spectrum. Kowa offers a range of IR-corrected motorized zoom lenses for day and night surveillance. These motorized zooms minimize focus shift when daylight is switched to IR lighting for night surveillance. In addition, Kowa has motorzooms optimized for the short wave infrared (SWIR) wavelength range. Recording in these wavelengths makes it possible to visualize things that are invisible to the human eye. Kowa’s SWIR zoom optics make it possible to see through fog or through certain materials such as plastic. In addition, they allow night shots to be taken without further illumination by using the after-night light.

Bright color images in dark surroundings

Another option for night surveillance is Kowa‘s low light camera , which complements the extensive range of motorized zooms. This camera provides a color image at only 0.005 lux. When the night is dark, it is sufficient when there are city lights a few kilometers away, to acheive a bright color image with the Kowa low light camera. Because of these characteristics, the Kowa low light camera is used by police and intelligence services in many countries for night observation. Here are some impressive night shots with the Kowa Low Light camera:

Automatic focus with the KC4AF

With the help of the KC4AF you have the possibility to control the DC motors of our lenses to use the focus and zoom function directly from the box or via the free software. For detailed information please refer to here and in the video below.

Kowa experts support on-site

Often it is very complex to put together a suitable security system. The motorized zooms and the cameras must be tested in the application situation. Kowa has gathered extensive experience in the integration of motorized zoom optics and cameras in close cooperation with integrators and end users, and can therefore advise you in detail. All Kowa motorzooms can be borrowed for testing. If necessary, the Kowa experts can support you during on-site tests. Book an appointment now with your Kowa lens expert.
